Located directly next to the Beckenbauer Golf Course, the Porsche Golf Course is the smaller brother of the European Tour-tested Championship Course in sporting terms and therefore a perfect addition. The design of the par 71 course was also created by Germany’s world-class golfer Bernhard Langer and has similar basic features, but was geared more towards the needs of recreational players. The terrain is flat and the 18 holes are a mixture of short and longer holes through the floodplain landscape of the River Rott, which has been integrated into the layout in some places. At 65 hectares, the Porsche Golf Course is somewhat more compact than the Beckenbauer Golf Course, and with its gently undulating fairways and mature trees, it is also visually more pleasing than its more open neighbour. Wider fairways, fewer lateral flood depressions and relatively shorter fairways also make the Porsche Golf Course more pleasant and somewhat easier to play overall. However, the fair course, which is suitable for all handicap classes and easy to walk, is by no means lacking in technical challenges and good golf holes.
Particularly memorable are hole 4, a long par 4 dogleg left along the river Rott with a difficult second shot onto a green with a stream running in front of it, hole 13, a par 3 with a peninsula green, and the strong finale of holes 16 to 18, where water constantly comes into play: whether on the drive on hole 16, a 90-degree dogleg around a pond, the teeshot on 17 onto the green protected by the same pond or the approach on the final hole onto a green with another pond in front of it.
Dogs – on a lead – are allowed on the Porsche Golf Course from 3 pm.
