GC Atalaya Golf & Country Club - Fairway 2 Hotel

GC Atalaya Golf & Country Club

2 top golf courses in one resort

The Old Course

Opened in 1968 and designed by German golf course architect Bernard von Limburger, Atalaya’s Old Course is one of the most beautiful golf courses on the Costa del Sol. The wide, generous fairways meander gently between mature trees and flowering shrubs, providing shade and color all year round. The often elevated greens make club selection interesting, and their subtle contours require careful judgment to sink those important putts. The Old Course offers magnificent views of La Concha and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as lakes and streams populated by many species of waterfowl, including our two resident pairs of swans.

The New Course

Opened in 1990 and designed by Paul Krings, this course presents an exciting challenge for golfers. The New Course is located in the hills above the Atalaya Old Course and rewards precision over distance. A number of fairways and greens feature slopes and elevation changes that require careful club selection. The course offers magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the Mediterranean Sea, and Gibraltar, and thanks to its location away from busy roads, it provides a peaceful environment in which to enjoy your round of golf. There is plenty of wildlife throughout the course, which features a forest of cork oaks, olive trees, and carob trees. Although there are some slopes, the course is easy to walk. However, in the summer heat, it is advisable to hire a buggy.
