GC Oberfranken-Golfing in dreamlike nature
The Golfclub Oberfranken e.V is conveniently located on the A 70 motorway in the triangle of cities between Kulmbach, Bayreuth and Bamberg, and blends harmoniously into the Franconian cultural landscape. Designed by Donald Harradine in 1965, the course offers views from the Plassenburg castle in Kulmbach over the heights of the Franconian Forest to the peaks of the Fichtelgebirge. As one of the few classic parkland courses in Germany, the course is characterised by its varied fairways and allows for a relaxing round in the shade of the old trees even at the height of summer.
After the round, you can end the day on the spacious clubhouse terrace right next to the 18th green and let your gaze wander over several fairways and the practice area with its short course. It is also worth making a detour to the market town of Thurnau, which is famous for its wonderfully preserved historic town centre and pottery.
