GC Villa Carolina

An oasis of relaxation surrounded by the nature of the Monferrato hills

Amidst the green hills of Monferrato, a gate magically opens onto a long, beautiful avenue shaded by ancient chestnut trees. Villa Carolina is located in the middle of a centuries-old park between the villages of Capriata d'Orba and Castelletto d'Orba, which has retained its romantic charm and the magical colours of nature for over two hundred years. Founded in 1991, the golf club has had two 18-hole courses since 2015, both of which are championship courses.

La Marchesa

The "La Marchesa" course was designed by Cornish & Silva Inc. Golfcourse Architects USA and is set against the picturesque backdrop of lush green forests and the fast-flowing Albedosa stream. It has 18 holes, a total length of 6,161 metres and a par of 72. The course is located on a flat area with plenty of space. Holes 10, 11 and 12 form the "Amen Corner" of the course, which tests the concentration of the players and leaves little room for error.

Paradiso Course

The Paradiso course was designed by architect Graham Cooke. The first 9 holes were inaugurated in 2006, while work on the next 9 holes was completed in 2014, making Villa Carolina one of the few clubs in Italy with two 18-hole championship courses with a total of 36 holes. The Paradiso is a very technical course that requires great precision. The course differs from the La Marchesa course in that it is rougher and the greens are more treacherous. The Paradiso course hosted the 40th PGAI Championship and the prestigious XIV Fondazione Vialli e Mauro Golf Cup tournament in aid of ALS research from 20 to 23 September 2016.

The resort

As part of a project to expand the Villa Carolina Golf Club, an exclusive 64-room resort was built to meet all needs and comfort requirements, nestled in the green surroundings of the Paradiso course. In addition to 36 fantastic greens, the club has two tennis courts, a summer pool, a bar and restaurant, and a fitness and wellness area.
