In 1896, Johann Schallmeiner knew exactly why he had chosen this ‘little spot’ on the sunny side of Lake Traunsee for his inn, with its spacious rooms overlooking the lake. For us, tradition is a commitment to continue running our establishment in the spirit of the founder, Hans Schallmeiner, who laid the foundations for a close bond with guests, down-to-earth cuisine and a family atmosphere over 100 years ago. A principle that is upheld by today’s innkeepers, Rosi and Hans Schallmeiner, as well as their daughter Johanna and her husband Christian, and by all our staff.

The harmonious collaboration between the generations is reflected in a constantly growing and evolving business that lovingly nurtures its roots, offering guests every comfort in a familiar setting year after year.

In our cosy restaurant or in the outdoor dining area, beneath the shady chestnut trees, you can sample Salzkammergut cuisine featuring freshly caught fish and regional produce, whilst enjoying fine wines.
